pass my driving test

My driving instructor told me I’m throwing my money away now. I am ready for my test but I need to do my theory first. Eeeeek!

I am finally ready for my driving test.

I had a driving lesson yesterday, the first hour was fine, the second was shocking. I just lose concentration completely about an hour in. My driving instructor said I’m ready though and she would happily enter me for a test because it’s only 40 minutes long and I’m perfectly capable of concentration for that long and I would pass. Eeeep! Time to go car shopping soon!

I had a driving lesson yesterday and it’s the first lesson where I’ve though ‘I can actually do this’ I was deciding what lane I needed to be in, when to indicate, when to change gear, when to pull out at a roundabout. After my lesson, my instructor said I have 8 more lessons booked in with her then I should be ready for my driving test…eeep! Finally! I didn’t think I’d ever get to this point. Exciting and scary…!

Last week my driving instructor told me that after 10 more lessons, which is 20 hours, I should be flying. I hope so!!!

I have contacted a local driving school and I will be re-starting lessons with another instructor on Monday. I always said I wanted a women instructor so I have decided to go with my gut instinct and I will be learning to drive with a lady this time. I hope it’s better!!

I’ve decided to change driving instructor. I always said I wanted to learn with a woman instructor but for some silly reason I went with a guy. For want of a better word, the instructor I went with was a bit of an arse so I’ve decided to go back to my gut instinct and find a woman to teach me. He’s a little bit cocky, a little bit smug and very sarcastic. I’m going to contact a few companies tomorrow and hopefully start up again next week.

I’m not really considering this yet as I need to give myself a bit more of a chance with a manual car but if I do another 10 lessons and I still can’t get my head around the foot pedals, I’m going to consider learning in an automatic instead. I don’t really care what car I drive, as long as it gets me from A to B.

I just spotted this quote on a friend’s Facebook and it’s so true. I immediately thought about my driving lesson. I may be making a lot f mistakes but at least I’m trying and I refuse to be a quitter. I have to keep going no matter how it makes me feel or how many times I mess up!

Today’s lesson sent me back to square one.I’m so so so frustrated with myself, well, with my feet mostly. My brain knows exactly what I need to do but my feet do not do what they’re told. I’m always braking at the wrong time, lifting the clutch when it should be still, stopping to brake so I can clutch and change gear. My feet simply do not do 2 things at once! Problem! This is making me really scared too as I’m driving in fairly busy traffic but I don’t have full control of the car. Sometimes my feet do the right thing but sometimes they don’t and I’m so scared that they do the wrong thing at a really bad time! If I still don’t have better control after next lesson, I’m going to ask my instructor if I can go somewhere quiet and just practise the control for a full lesson until I’ve got it. Grrrr!!
