OK, not really. But I am inspired. Saturday night, I visited a small magic shop up in Baltimore that is owned by Ken, a former Ringling Brothers Circus clown and his immensely talented son Spencer. I bought several magic tricks, but it’s really obvious that I need to get more comfortable handling a deck of cards, shuffling, etc., before I get really good. In the first trick I am practicing, I can take two coins, an American half-dollar and a Mexican coin, and make the Mexican coin disappear while one of my audience members is holding the coins. It’s wicked cool.
They are busy renovating their space into an upscale, magic-themed bar. Spencer will do tricks for the crowds as well as escape from a straightjacket while suspended from the ceiling. They also have a very cozy back room with lots of comfortable couches. I’m excited for having met such interesting people, and can’t wait to bring my friends here.
