get out of debt

my debt was until I was free of it. Now I have all sorts of options like saving for Financial Independence, having money for travel.
Recently my health packed up and my income is now very small. I am so thankful my house is paid off, because there is no way I could afford a mortgage.
The thing I would change and the advice I would give others is to have an emergency fund while you are paying off debt. I could have saved myself a lot of worry if I’d had some money to fall back on.
