Progress 4 months ago

Have a total of $25,622, not including $3,200 in Kiwisaver. Over halfway there.

plodding on 9 months ago

I haqve $14,155. 28.31% of the way there.

Making progress 15 months ago

I have now saved up a total of $10,040 in Bonus Bonds. i set up an automatic payment of $100 a month from my check account

Now that I've saved $5000 1 year ago

that is 10% of the way there. On with the big bucks!

Except I’ll probably wind up spending the $5000 on my trip to Britain.

Going backwards 3 years ago

My home needs repairs so I am spending my savings. Maybe I would be better off getting a Home Equity loan and leaving the Bonds untouched. I’d rather have $5000 in the bank and owe $5000 than have nothing to fall back on.

I also have to have extensive dental work done.

One step backward 3 years ago

$2000 spent on travel. But it was worth it.

One Step 3 years ago

Yay for me! I am at $5000, 10% of my goal.

Reminder to self 3 years ago

I think I will write a little note and put it in my wallet. “Every $ you spend hinders you reaching your goal.”

Retirement fund 3 years ago

I got my annual statement, and my retirement money has grown to $18,060. I’m not sure whether I should count this. A nice goal to aim at would be $50,000 in retirment savings, and $50,000 in other investments.

Going up 3 years ago

I added all the money I have except for in retirement savings, and I have $4,674. At the standard sickness benefit of $173.29 per week, that’s enough to keep me going for 6 months if I lost my income. Of course some of it is slated for spending on home repairs, holidays etc, but in an emergency those would be put off.
