My son volunteers at the food bank and he said that the food bank in our area has a wide variety of items. When we go grocery shopping he’ll point out different items that the food bank offers. I was surprised at some of the items that he points out.
I haven’t donated any food items lately, I usually need a food drive to remind me to donate.

there are several “low income” people that are rich in spirit, attitude and love…so I tend to refrain from using the term “poor people”

anyways, I agree that if you donate food, it should at least be something good – as they probably get enough top ramen and wonder bread
