Not sure what to do with this one...

...because some foods that are considered healthy are somewhat risky for me to eat right now due to possible complications with the ileostomy I had December 21.

Not allowed raw veggies, unpeeled fruits, beans, and sundry other items. Some of these restrictions may eventually be lifted if I re-introduce the foods without problems. Some foods may always cause difficulties, though.

On the other hand, since I no longer have a colon, I don’t need to worry about fibre!

I think I’ll leave this one on my list for now, to remind me that I still want to lose some more weight and reduce my risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.



Well on my way toward this one

For the past month (officially, having joined Weight Watchers online) or two (unofficially, having begun to let certain unhealthy habits drop away), I’ve been eating much less junk.

I notice, in fact, that I’ve virtually lost my taste for certain items: e.g., most types of french fries.

Eating lots more veggies and fruits – 5 servings most days (aiming next for the vaunted 7 to 9).

Seafood and chicken more often than beef. Alas, I haven’t yet lost my taste for burgers and steaks.

One step at a time!
