...in that I refinanced my home equity loan and consolidated all of my debt. In addition, I closed out my two high-interest cards (why they were high-interest is beyond me; I have stellar credit, and I kept calling and harassing them to lower my rates).
Funny, my credit union had no problem issuing me a single-digit-interest-rate Visa card….
Plus, I’ve controlled myself so far and not used the new card yet.
Let’s see if I can keep it up. It sure is nice not having those monster-sized payments every month.

and got my rates lowered. That will help some. Although, if my husband can’t find a job soon….

The cost of living out here is so high, and my husband’s part-time job is soon ending, with no other immediately in sight. Raises at my company are few and small. Our heating oil bill has more than doubled, and the costs of quality child-care have increased. I’m dipping into some money I inherited from my grandmother just to make ends meet.
I see no way out of this.
