Awesome Overcoat 3 months ago

Off to a great start, I bought an awesome overcoat at H&M that has leather trip, its black and nearly full length.

I also scoped up all new underwear.. I need to get a pack of black t-shirts. I have also made plans to buy 3 new suits, 3 new shirts, 5 new ties, 3 pairs of socks, 4 pairs of slacks, 3 sweaters, 3 pairs of shoes ( Black, Brown and Black Boots), a new messenger bag, scarf, hat and leather gloves.

Then I am done for the winter.

Purging 3 months ago

So for the winter, I have decided that I am going to wear as much black as I can. I love the color and it loves me. Tomorrow, I am going to go through my old things and get rid of the clothes that I no longer wear. I have to get down to the bones and make this goal urgent !

Living well 22 months ago

This goal sounds so vain and materialistic at first glance. But its about more than just a desire to have things, I want to live well. I deserve to live well. I deserve to look as good as I feel on the inside. I went to the mall today. And looked at suits, colognes and watches. I had a blast and cannot wait until I go back this weekend and get the things that I want. Hooray for mini shopping sprees.

First $500 22 months ago

If I am feeling bold, I will spend my first 500 on this goal. I am going to stick to trying to get most everything on my year round list.

Shopping 23 months ago

Just looking for the items, even if you dont plan on buying them at the moment. will really help when the time comes for you to put your money on the counter. I set my wardrobe budget at $5000, and now I see that I if I shop smartly I will come in way under $5k with money left to pay down credit card bills. Orignally I though I would spend $300 on each suit on my list, but I think I could spend half that and just get better tailoring. If I buy things as they go on sale and as seasons change I am looking at huge discounts. I found one item I orignally though would cost 300 for 99 online. Thats just amazing. This goal while it sounds huge really isnt a monster when you carefully plan out what a wardrobe means for you. I have almost a year and a half to work on this, and if I can do it for under $3k I will be really proud of myself.

$5000 wardrobe 23 months ago

I believe that I can create the look that I want for about $5000. Over a period of about sixteen months I can create this wardrobe. I will need to have a buying plan. Long list, I hope to use this as a refernce for when I go shopping. Until this list is complete, I promise to go to the mall at least once every two weeks., year round items taking precendce over seasonal items.

Summer/ Spring
Jacket, 5 polos, 3 Shirts (pastel or lighted colored), 2 Chinos, 2 Shorts, 2 Jeans, Canvas shoes, 2 cotton sweaters, sandals, swimwear, sunglasses, blazer, seersucker suit

Fall/ Winter
Full length coat, leather gloves, 3 wool sweaters, office appropriate boots, 2 wool slacks, fall appropriate blazer, 2 dark slacks, 3 shirts, 2 long sleeved polos

Year round
dress socks, 2 sweatsuit alternatives, work/laptop bag, 3 tshirts, sneakers, pin stripe suit, gray suit, brown suit, black leather belt, brown leather belt, black/ brown loafers, 2 white shirts, light blue shirt, 3 solid ties (blue, red, black), 3 fragrances (work, evening and special occassion) , gold watch

Everything I buy is going to be classic, I am going to avoid prints and unusual fabrics so that I will have pieces that mix and match well and will last for years. Solid colors are safe but once I have my basic wardrobe I can then become more trendy and fashion forward, but first things first.

Purging wardrobe 2 years ago

I feel like the only way that I am going to get serious about buying a new wardrobe is to go ahead and get rid of or give away the clothes that I do not want to wear anymore and have the suits that I want to keep repaired and retailored to fit proprerly. Any advice ?

I am so tired of dressing like a pauper at work 2 years ago

Part of getting a job means looking the part. I have so many things to do with the money that I have and I dont feel like clothing is the right direction to be going in. When I get my job I want to put back at least $300-$500 per month for 6 months on clothing.

I am going to post a pic of one of my favorite style icons
