I passed the first exam. I wish I had done better, but I guess passing is what counts! There were things on the exam I hadn’t even heard of. They were probably in chapters that I only skimmed over. Now I just have to study for the second half.
Everything Changes has written 6 entries about this goal
Now I just have to set a date and make sure I’m ready.
I finished chapter one in my A+ book. I knew most of the material already. I wonder if I really need to know so many details. For example, do I really need to know which CPU’s use which sockets? It seems like that is the kind of things a tech would use a reference chart for. Also, do I need to know details about the RAM modules?
My books have arrived. Tomorrow I will take a look at them and make a plan about when I will be ready for the exam.
I ordered the study kit from Amazon today. I didn’t order the test voucher yet.
I am setting a goal to get this done in the next few months. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree 7 years ago, but I haven’t used my computer skills professionally. I want to get certified to show that I still know the technology.
