I cleaned the bathroom and it is super sparkly. I even hung matching towels, even though I don’t use them. They look nice.

We’ve been doing pretty well with this since we got a kitten – anything on the floor is fair game for her! Our only problem area is still the kitchen and dishes, but we are working on it.
I did super spring cleaning with my mom this past weekend while my BF was out of town. We went crazy and the house looks like nobody even lives there! It’s beautiful. Of course, that will all change when my BF gets back so I’m enjoying it while I can! ;D
OK, maybe I’m a horrible person, but I’m totally hiring my mom to clean my house. Not just out of the blue, though. She actually cleans houses part time for a living, as a supplement to her Spanish translation income. I just can’t keep up with my housekeeping, and if I’m going to hire someone I’d rather it be someone I know and trust around all my expensive electronics than a complete stranger. We’re cleaning together the first time for a deep clean, and then after that I will pay her to come in twice a month or so.
We have taken to switching off on the dishes every night. That is really helping with the massive dish piles that would build up until the weekend and then I would have to spend my entire weekend washing them. And it’s easier to do a small load of dishes each night than to wash every dish in the house over the course of two days. So, I guess I’m making progress…
This is tough – I’m messy so I’m really trying to curb that. What gets me most is the dishes. We don’t have a dishwasher. I think it’s because the gods hate me and want me to suffer. At least that’s what the note that came with the dead flowers said.
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on how to politely suggest to a SO that one person can’t do all the work?
