be fluent in Japanese

I studied Japanese in college, but the real education began when I moved to Japan in 1988. Learning the language opened me to many experiences (parties, job opportunities, chances to see things way off the beaten path, learn more about “the real Japan”) that I wouldn’t have had if I’d stuck to English and hung around other English speakers. I haven’t used my Japanese in a while, so I need to get back to it—if you don’t use it, you lose it!
