making progress! it is uncomfortable having healthy friends and not destructive friends. taking the actions and persuing good relationships. it’s scary! tuesday i went to a meditation class with my classmate i mentioned, and he’s really nice, so i followed up with a text message asking him if he wants to see a bollywood movie tonight, he couldn’t cuz he was working but he was totally into it. i realized i was scared to put myself out there and get rejected. me! funny.
tomorrow night i am going to play music at 7pm with two friends who are calm, stable, mature, not addicts, attractive, successful, and then we are going to go to a party. they are fashion designers but not obnoxious about it. i really like them, they also like healthy food and respect that i have a special diet. it is a litmus test. :)

I don’t have very many healthy friends with whom I feel I can have trust and intimacy or the prospect of it. I need friends who don’t use drugs and alcohol to escape, who are fun, productive, and available, and who help me to be a better person by way of example and support.
I love these people already and I don’t even know most of them yet!
I also want to support and grow the friendships I do have and improve them because it is my responsibility to be healthy and that will benefit everyone—not just me.
:)
