clean my apartment

Okay, so I had cleared the necessary path from the dining room through the hallway and then the living room. Now I get a call from my landlady that she’s thinking about selling the building and wants to show a buyer it next week. I’m glad I picked up some in the kitchen and bathroom too, but I blocked the spare bedroom completely when I moved the hallway. So now I’m going to have to clear a path to there, clear the foyer, finish the bathroom and kitchen, and then tackle the bedroom, clothes room and half-bath, none of which have been touched in over three years. Well if I succeed then maybe I can start sleeping in my bed again instead of on the couch. So much for my spring break from my paramedic class.

My landlord is having some electrical work done which will require access to my apartment. Her words were “can you clear a path”. So I’ve got to work on cleaning the dining room, hallway and living room so that the electrician can make his way from my front door to the junction box and then to the front porch roof to wire in a new sign on the front of the building. I’ve already started on this before I even knew she was going to need access, so I should be able to progress on this quickly. Now to just keep it clean when I get it clean (and not let 43 Things distract me too much this weekend.)

I’ve been slacking about coming here and posting weekly goals, but I have been making them in my blog. I’ve scrubbed the tub, done the dishes, cleaned the bathroom sink, cleaned the stove, to name a few things. But as you can see from this picture, there’s still a ton of stuff to do. This for example is my kitchen table.

Okay, so this is something I really need to focus on this year. Today I’ve started by doing the dishes, cleaning the stove, throwing things out of the refrigerator, cutting the coupons off the empty pizza boxes, and cleaning the bathroom sink.

Each week in 2006 I will come up with a target goal of what I want to accomplish on this and post it here so I can make sure I get it done.

Okay, so I ran into my landlady this week and she volunteered being in my apartment. She suggested that I needed to get a storage unit because she has some work that needs to be done to insulate the building and they’re going to need access. The reason I rent this apartment is because of its size for storage so if I’m going to have to have a storage facility, then why should I bother renting this big apartment?

Okay, so I came home again, and found my laundry basket was moved again from in front of the attic. Now I know the workers were out doing roofing, but still I would think that I should be told that they are going to access my apartment.

So I came home and my laundry basket that was in front of the attic door was moved into my bedroom door. Someone had to have done it, so that makes me think my landlord came into my apartment without notifying me. That makes me uncomfortable for two reasons. 1) My apartment was trashed, and she would’ve had to have walked over my dirty clothes to get to the attic door. 2) My porn was out.

Now the porn isn’t as big a deal to me, but I guess I should pick up some if she’s going to stop in unannounced while I’m at work.
