I'm Done

I just got the best gift from the couple who I had been the Best Man for earlier this year. They gave me a Philadelphia and Denver mint one. It was the best gift they ever could have come up with, and showed me how much they wanted to find the perfect gift for me. I still have to put them in my books, but I’ve completed my books now. Thanks Gabe and Tammy!

Hawaii

When I was working at the Lakeview Cinema last night during Twilight, I waited on a customer in concession and spied a Hawaii quarter in the change she gave me. I instantly hid it since as projectionist I was on my way to start the movie. When I came back it was still there and I scored my first Hawaii. That completes one of the two books that my parents gave me. I still need another Hawaii P mint for the second book as well as the D mint, but I’m on the way to completing this goal for good.

Thanks MarcieBrooks

I’d sent four quarters off to MarcieBrooks to help her get closer to being done with this goal, and when I picked up my collected mail at the Post Office today there were two Alaska Denver mint quarters waiting there for me. I also picked up another four Philadelphia mint ones at the movie theatre the other night. I’m still supposed to get some more AK quarters from another 43er, but my books are now full as are my mom and grandma’s.

Needed Quarters:
2008 Hawaii Philadephia Mint
2008 Hawaii Denver Mint

Alaska Found

I’d made arrangements to trade with two different 43ers for some Alaska quarters, but they haven’t arrived yet. Tonight I drove over to the Lakeview Cinema to be projectionist. We’re having a winter storm tonight and the roads were pretty crappy. It took me 45 minutes to go 22 miles. This was actually the route I ran for the marathon and at one point I thought I had run faster than I was driving.

Anyway, no one showed up for either the seven or nine o’clock movie tonight because of the storm, but the drive over was worth it to me because there in the concession drawer was my very first Alaska quarter. It’s a Philadelphia mint so that just leaves three quarters left to complete my collection.

Needed Quarters:
2008 Alaska Denver Mint
2008 Hawaii Philadephia Mint
2008 Hawaii Denver Mint

Final Four

My parents had gone out to Montana in August and earlier today they gave me a handful of Denver mint quarters they picked up while out there. I flipped through them and wouldn’t you know the very last one was the Arizona Denver mint I needed.

Now I’m down to the last two states to be issues, Alaska and Hawaii, and I need both mints for each.

Needed Quarters:
2008 Alaska Philadelphia Mint
2008 Alaska Denver Mint
2008 Hawaii Philadephia Mint
2008 Hawaii Denver Mint

Arizona

I finally got an Arizona in change last week, the first that I’ve seen them around here. I noticed it right off and thought about asking if the cashier had more but there was a long line and I decided I would eventually find more of them.

Needed Quarters:
2008 Arizona Denver Mint
2008 Alaska Philadelphia Mint
2008 Alaska Denver Mint
2008 Hawaii Philadephia Mint
2008 Hawaii Denver Mint

Thanks Deni

I received the most awesome surprise package in the mail today from Deni H. While there were lots of cool things in it (like a copy of the Daily Corinth that had my picture in it from the 10K along with my results), there was also two of the Denver mint quarters I needed (Utah and New Mexico).

So thank you Deni for being so thoughtful and generous. I now have all the released quarters from both mints, and just have the three remaining states to go to finish this goal.

Needed Quarters:
2008 Arizona Philadelphia Mint
2008 Arizona Denver Mint
2008 Alaska Philadelphia Mint
2008 Alaska Denver Mint
2008 Hawaii Philadephia Mint
2008 Hawaii Denver Mint

New Mexico

I stopped at a store en route to Albany this weekend and when I got my change there was a New Mexico quarter. I commented about it to the clerk and he said he had a whole roll of them. So I gave him a buck to get some more so I could give one to my mom and grandma too.

Needed Quarters:
2007 Utah Denver Mint
2008 New Mexico Denver Mint
2008 Arizona Philadelphia Mint
2008 Arizona Denver Mint
2008 Alaska Philadelphia Mint
2008 Alaska Denver Mint
2008 Hawaii Philadephia Mint
2008 Hawaii Denver Mint

OK

While I was down in Mississippi last week, I got a couple Oklahoma quarters. It wasn’t until this weekend though when I was doing laundry that I looked at them. They were Denver mint, so now I have both Oklahoma mints.

New Mexico is supposedly available now, but I haven’t seen them yet.

Needed Quarters:
2007 Utah Denver Mint
2008 New Mexico Philadelphia Mint
2008 New Mexico Denver Mint
2008 Arizona Philadelphia Mint
2008 Arizona Denver Mint
2008 Alaska Philadelphia Mint
2008 Alaska Denver Mint
2008 Hawaii Philadephia Mint
2008 Hawaii Denver Mint

Thanks Abby

I picked up my mail today after being out of town and there was the quarter that Abby said she was sending me. I now have the Denver mint version of Wyoming. That brings me down to just six Denver mints left to get to fill up my book (and five Philadelphia mints).

Getting closer.
