When I was at the doctor this month for my three month follow up, my blood pressure was 98/62. This prompted the doctor to question the BP medication that I’m on and he cut the dose in half. His concern was that my pressure was getting too low. I hadn’t had any symptoms of low blood pressure at that point, but the following week I did. I hadn’t switched to the new level of med yet, and got dizzy one day when I stood up. I know it was a blood pressure issue and not a blood sugar issue because I’d eaten within a reasonable amount of time before it happened. That’s a good indicator that my weight loss and increased exercise has adjusted my blood pressure. Hopefully I’ll be able to go off meds entirely soon.
