Visit Melbourne

We finished of a fantastic week in Melbourne with a ghost tour, a trip to the zoo, took a tour around the Melbourne Cricket Ground and went to Luna Park, the Queen Victoria Markets and did a lot of shopping. Also, earlier in the week we had lunch at Lygon Street. We enjoyed basically everything we did and had a fantastic time.

This is now our fourth day in Melbourne. So far we have seen a range of things including Federation Square, Immigration Museum and Old Melbourne Gaol. Having a great time in general. I will provide more details when I get home at the end of the week (14/08/09).

We have arrivedin Brisabane. Our trip went well. we stopped and had lunch at Pacific Fair, a very large shopping centre on the Gold Coast and then proceeded to our motel near Brisbane Airport. After that we went to the nearby shopping centre, DFOs. We will be up early in the morning to catch our flight to Melbourne.

Over the last few weeks I have checked the the bookings on motels and last minute arrangements. Lucky I have done this as I have found a couple of mistakes that the travel agent has made. I am glad that I have arranged our holiday to Singapore myself. Tonight we will finish packing our bags and we will drive to brisbane tommorow (Saturday) and fly to Melbourne on Sunday. Looking forward to a great holiday 09/01/08.

We have now got our airline and motel tickets organised for Melbourne. Today we also booked our motel in Brisbane near Brisbane. We will fly from Brisbane to Melbourne on Virgin Airlines where we will stay for the week. Amongst the things we hope to see while we are there include, Old Melbourne Gaol, Luna Park, MCG Tour, Australian Sports Museum at the MCG,Melbourne Zoo and general shopping. It looks like it will be a fantastic time.

We will check shortly that our tickets have arrived for our motel. If this is the case then we will have everything for our trip in January. We cannot wait for our holiday.

We recently took our 8 week old boy for a brief trip to The Gold Coast. Our hope was that everything would go smoothly with our young son enjoying travel as a precursor to his trip to Melbourne. Fortunately everything went well. He is an excellent traveller so our trip to Melbourne should not be a big problem. We have also organised flight cancellation insurance in case anything goes wrong.

We have just talked to our travel agent and they are going to send us some details of motels and flights for our trip in January. So we are now well on the way for our visit. We will probably fly virgin and stay at a very basic motel in the city.

Yesterday we found out that we would not be able to travel to Melbourne in October as originally planned. This made me a bit worried about when we would actually be able to get there. Since that time I have researched flights and accomodation. This has lead me to find out that there are some really cheap flights and motel rates during the school holidays which has surprised me. So shortly I will see our travel agent and make our bookings for January to go to Melbourne.

We have previously been looking at travelling to Melbourne in October. recently, we have found out that our child carer my be closed down for two weeks. This is not in the weeks when we had planned to go to Melbourne. This will mean that she will have to take her holidays to mind our child, and stay at home, as Tom is not able to get holidays at this time. Consequently, our holidays to Melbourne will probably be delayed.
