learn italian

I’ve been doing Italian crossword puzzles. Well, trying to do them. With help. If I had a better memory, this would probably be a great way to learn some Italian. But mostly these new words go in one side of the brain and out the other.

i really think i should just move to italy to do this.

last night i cracked open an italian novel. i sat there for about an hour with a dictionary and a verb book, translating as i went along. it sounds productive, although it was slow going. i only managed to get through one paragraph! i learned a lot though.

i am surrounded by italians so i might as well do it. then i won’t be so frustrated when they’re speaking and i don’t know what’s going on.
