Mind over wind & rain 2 weeks ago

My dog motivated me to go for a run this morning & it felt great! My body needs this release to feel whole (physically, mentally & spiritually).

I had so many ideas come flooding to me – just a well I had my phone so I could leave myself messages to remind me what I need to do.

I listened to an ad exec earlier this year & they had an ideas map, where they placed a pin at the location the idea was developed – guess what? There weren’t many pins at the office!



It worked! 2 months ago

I said I would go for a run & I did! 10 kms with the dog & lots of friendly people on the trail.

A bit sore – but feeling fulfilled!



Struggling... 2 months ago

It’s a juggling act at the moment as I get into the business end of essays due & exams looming.

I signed up for a 5km run challenge mid-November which will at least give me something to train for.



Excuses, excuses 3 months ago

- Damn it’s cold
- My legs are tired
- I’m getting blisters
- I’m tired
- My assignment is due on Tuesday
- I need to get my weekly newsletter finished
- A fit colleague recently had a heart attack
- I need to wash the car
- I should mow the lawns
- It’s raining

To get out for an early morning run with the dog – what a great way to start the day!



Longest run in months 4 months ago

I decided to run 10kms, but the circuit took me on a 12km run. I got into a good rhythm and paced myself well. It was windy but pleasant getting out again & feeling ‘whole’ (physically, mentally & spiritually) – It’s a great feeling!



Another run 4 months ago

I have been remotivated to get running more regularly again. I live in a beautiful part of the world and have some amazing tracks within minutes of where I live.

This is Honey, my running partner on our run yesterday.



Too long 10 months ago

My life has been out of balance somewhat since the dog hurt her leg & I stopped taking her for runs. It’s healing & I’m keen to get running again.

I feel physically & mentally at my peak when I run!



I learnt 13 months ago

- a male’s waist circumference should be 1/2 his height.
- your number 2’s should be “fluffy floaters” not “stinky sinkers”.
- run for 25 minutes before the endorphins kick in.
- when buying packaged foods make sure sugars or fats never exceed 10% of the total.



No excuses 13 months ago

I’ve not prioritised my health & fitness over the last month for a number of reasons (excuses).

Having been for a run on Saturday & again today, I am keen to maintain the momentum over the festive season.

Next run Thursday!
