I’m trying really hard at the moment not to procrastinate. However, it doesn’t help that a combination of getting home late from work, and people comming over for random visits all week has left me with pretty much no free time, and now it’s the weekend again. Which leaves me Saturday (Since Sunday will be lost to F1 and going to see a film at the cinema with friends)
So, I should try and avoid drinking to much wine on Friday night. I can give me self a head start by setting the washer on a time delay now so all I need to do is put it out to dry tomorrow. So, still chance to get myself in order for next week… maybe.

I have a fairly major problem with procrastination, for several reasons, but I’m leaning slow to deal with it.
Now, at the moment my big push is to start doing something, update my blog and 43things, write little snippets of code into my libs that are powering my new site http://protocol80.net just to get into the habit of working on anything at all, so the shift to more productive and useful projects isn’t such a shock to the system. At least doing something is better then just drifting over blankly into more pointless and less productive forms of provrastination.
As with most things right now, it’ll start to get better after next week when I have some space of my own more. But for now I can see some very real results of my efforts and so it’s a more encouraging direction to head in.

Since today was the first day of my holiday I wanted to try and start as I ment to go on, and set to getting some aspects of the house tidy and organized as well as sort out everything I need for the weekend away.
I didn’t get off to a great start, but I got into town at about 2, got my hair cut, and looked about a few shops looking for folders and index cards. Unfortunatly, I couldn’t find dividers numbered 1 to 31 anywhere – which I was a bit miffed about, more so when I went to Staples, to find it’s moved to a new location a bit further out of town, so I’m leaving that just for now. I did get a bargin household organizer box at ASDA though, which cheered me up a bit, and prompted me to sort out some of the folders that are full to bursting into more organized sections.
Still, I should have got some shoes, my steel toe capped boots been the only pair left that haven’t fallen apart. But that can wait untill tomorrow, since I’m heading back anyway to pick out something to wear at the weekend and I’m not picky about shoes at all, it’s a case of find the first pair that fits, and buy them.
I think if I can keep going at this rate, even with my weekends away I can have the house in some sort of order, and have much less clutter, without having to work to hard.
Just as long as I do something each day, and don’t waste all of my time, then it’s not a problem, and the more I do, the easier doing more on top of that becomes, once I’m up and going.

Every time I see this near, or at the top of various lists, it makes me smile. Because deep down I know that just like me, many, or even most of the people using this site are probably doing so at the expense of doing something else on their list, work, or life.
As with so many other things on my list, it’s possibly time to start doing, rather then thinking about doing.
