When I get overly stressed, I tend to lose focus. So, here are the steps that I need to follow in order to keep up with my work, do well, and enjoy life.
Step 1: Take a deep breath.
Step 2: Continue breathing.
Step 3: Remember that it’s all okay. Eliminate stress.
Step 4: Work. Work. Work.
Step 5: Have fun. A LOT of fun.
Step 6: Realize that I didn’t have time to have fun, but I’m going to do it anyway because life is not about stress and work and grades (well, maybe a little, for future purposes).
Step 7: Repeat every week.

I think that not being focused and just getting things done is the major impediment to me getting to where I want to be. I spend countless hours wasting time, procrastinating, then stressing about how I should do this or that. I resolve to do it “tomorrow,” but tomorrow comes and goes. And when I really need to get something done, it’s usually at the last minute. Not a good way to lead life. And I avoid adding goals like this to my list because I am afraid that I can’t do it. But now, it’s number one. I feel like I could do so much more in life if I would “just do it.”
And I should start with figuring out some class stuff and next summer stuff that I need to figure out before winter break ends. Tomorrow. For real. I have taken plenty of time to relax and be completely lazy, but now I have to do it if I want to get the most out of my education and opportunity to study abroad…that’s not something I want to screw up because I was doing nothing instead. And I am not going to leave it until I have so much else to do that I can’t devote enough time to it.
