Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – J.K. Rowling.

Hmmm…What can I say about this book? Part of me is disappointed and the rest of me can’t wait to see how the very ending of the novel will look in film form. Yes, okay, I liked the ending. Could have been a bit different but anyway. Not my favourite harry book though. That award is still given to the fifth one.

But, on another note, I have completed this goal, with a history making novel as well. :)

Can it be done? 2 years ago

My challenge has been set for a while to finish this goal.

With a hundred and sixty nine days to go and one book left to read, will I be able to complete this goal?

I guess the answer should be “As long as I don’t choose War and Peace as my final novel”

In that case, I am currently reading “Me Talk Pretty One Day” by David Sedaris, which has been very entertaining so far.

The Unlikely Romance of Kate Bjorkman – Louise Plummer

I thought this was a good teen romance novel. The characters were believable, unlike so many teen novels these days. It was a very quick read considering I started this yesterday.

Now, only one more book to read!

Rant – Chuck Palahniuk

This was well written and with an interesting style I hadn’t seen before. I didn’t think it had much of a ‘shock’ factor though. That said, I doubt many people would agree with me on that seen as the main character enjoyed getting high on spider/snake poison. All in all a good book and I can’t wait to read even more of this author.

The Five People You Meet In Heaven – Mitch Albom

This was quite an inspiring novel. It felt a bit as if it was the novel equivalent of the film ‘It’s a Wonderful Life.’ I’d like to think that this is the kind of thing that happens when you die. The whole five people in heaven thing. An excellent and quick read, obviously. Seen as I finished this within the space of about 7 hours.

The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood – Ann Brashares

This was pretty much pure fluff. This was a highly pointless book, that was still entertaining, but could have been a lot better. I hope this is the last book in the series because the characters are really dragging out now and there isn’t anything much that is special about them any more.

Mostly Harmless – Douglas Adams

Yay! I have finished this series. Probably one of the funniest series I have read. Brilliant wit and story. I’d like to read his other books as well now.

Only 5 books left to go!

A long way down – Nick Hornby

I quite enjoyed this book really. I’ve been seeing it at the library every time I’ve been, and it was never gone off the shelf, so I decided I’d better pick it up and read it. It was interesting how the characters melded together so well in the end. Basically the story is of four people who meet each other on the top of a london building on new years eve, after each deciding they wanted to commit suicide. Somehow they form a pact and try to work through their difficulties, despite the major differences between them all.

Of the four characters, I’d probably say I did relate to JJ, surprisingly. Not throughout the whole thing, but he did say he hated it when it’s okay for someone to sit on their asses all day playing video games and trying to defeat aliens, whereas people, especially teenagers, will laugh at someone or call them a freak for reading a novel.

I found that the characters were well crafted and it was easy to relate to, well, at least one of them. And quite understandable as to why the rest were wanting to end their lives.

Twilight – Stephanie Meyer

A great teen read, better than a majority of the modern ones out there. I’m quite interested in reading the following books in the series because I’ll have to see what happens next! :)

Emo Boy: Nobody Cares about anything so why don’t we all just die? – Steven Emond

An awful graphic novel, because it was so typically cliche emo. It basically said that if you’re emo, you never ever laugh, smile or anything, which is quite unlike the ‘emos’ I know. I had to add this graphic novel here because it was so bad, it really had to count for something.
Though it did have a couple of amusing lines including “I feel so alone and in need of a hot dog”
