learn to flirt

Setting this goal aside for now. It was terrific fun chatting it up with my cute coffee shop guy and the elevator flirting. :D

I’ve been falling behind on this goal. I need an elevator and some coffee.

Flirting can happen at unexpected times. I was standing in line at a Starbuck’s this afternoon [not my usually coffee shop with my cute guy] and the man in front of me turned around and made a comment that the summer was passing too quickly. At first I was taken back because it came out of the blue. Then I realized that he was flirting with me. So I kept my eyes on his and we chatted. I walked away thinking, “Hey, that wasn’t hard. I can do this! Bring on the cuties!” :D

Yay! I’ve moved my flirting mojo out of the elevators! A very handsome coffee shop attendant flirted up a storm with me today. I simply went in for a green tea and he wouldn’t stop talking to me. As soon as I walked in he greeted me with a luscious smile and then mentioned that he recognized the company logo on the folder I was carrying. And several smiles and eye contact later, I walked out feeling lighter and smiling to myself. This is what flirting is about, isn’t it? Making each other feel lighter.

I’ll be going back for more tea :)

I’m going to permanently move into my work elevator because that’s where all my flirting action is happening! It happened again today. I came back from my lunch and a man got in with me. I think we’ve seen each other before but then maybe not. We were awkwardly staring at the flashing numbers when he turned to me and mentioned that we were both holding coffee cups. With unwavering eye contact AND a smile, I said “Yeah, it’s that time of day.” A light hahaha ensued and I felt a connection.

It was a good moment. I smiled all the way to my desk and couldn’t wait to tell all of you.

There’s a book on flirting that I really enjoyed reading and want to share with everyone. It’s called “Super Flirt” by Tracy Cox. There’s all sorts of tidbits on how to flirt and how to recognize it. It’s packed with interesting flirtin’ info, and it’s a fun read.

I haven’t been doing much flirting lately. No interesting elevator encounters. I need to make more eye contact and put myself out there, be more open. Haven’t been in the groove lately.

How’s everyone else doing on this goal? Looking for some inspiration!

My energy must be changing. Ever since I adopted this goal, all sorts of people have been making conversation with me. Today, walking on the sidewalk, a man pasing me made a comment about the weather. I saw genuine friendliness on his face, and the only reason it struck me was because people just don’t do that in my city – my big, fast city. Maybe it’s because I’m more open to it. It’s nice to know that people want to be close to me.

This morning, I had another elevator encounter with an equally attractive man as the last elevator guy. He started the conversation and before I got too nervous, I gave a witty response and made him laugh. Oh yeah! I’m liking these encounters – they’re short and good practice. Next time I’m gonna try for more eye contact.

I think I’m doing okay. Making progress.

Oh boy. I had the chance to really flirt this afternoon, it was handed to me, but I ended up talking into my hands. A handsome man got into the elevator with me and when it was just us, he turned to me started making small talk. I gave a quick answer, and then turned away to stare into my coffee cup. Silence. Gack!!!!

Definitely need more practice. Hummph.
