Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

I'm so happy to be back home...

...after two weeks of constant on-the-go and dining out, none of which is healthy, I’m just glad to be back home…

The air is just fresher here and I can certainly live without jam-packed subways and streets.

But, and you know there’s aways a but, it was a nice trip after all…

I got to meet my in-laws and they found our daughter to be the most adorable thing in the world…that’s because they don’t have to change or feed her at night.

Any who, I can go on and on, but who wants to listen to one’s vacation trip…but I’ll post a picture of our daughter (now almost 1) that my cousin took. It’s the shot of the year, in my opinion…stay tuned and cheers ~

We're leaving in just 1 week...

...we’re so excited…cheers~

Finally got our visas...

...will be planning our trip in the coming weeks…so excited…I know it’ll be a lot of FUN

...for one, we’ll eat like there’s no tomorrow…well, almost…but I really do wanna try many different foods, street foods…

Cheers ~

Went to the Chinese Embassy to get Visas...

...had to make 2 trips…its website is bit murky about what is required…they actually need to see the plane tickets!!!

Anyhow, finally got it done, will pick it up tomorrow…sigh…it’s a lot of work just to visit China, I hope it’s worth it.

Yay, we brought our tickets...

...off we go on Feb 11. I know this will be a fun trip. Our daughter will get to meet her grandma again…I know she’s eager to see how much she’s grown…btw, we have a long list of places where we want to eat…food is absolutely mouth-watering in HK…wow, it’s only about a month away…can’t wait…

Cheers~

Due to finances...

...we decided not to visit Taiwan…plus, our daughter is just too young to remember any part of the trip…we want to make it as worthwhile as possible, so we’ll likely do this when she gets older…

Cheers ~

We're not sure yet...

...but we may also visit Taiwan…my wife has a few friends who live there…and both of us have never been there…and we would love to go…but with a baby, we may not get to enjoy it very much…we’ll see…

Cheers ~

Okay, it's set...

...we are visiting Hong Kong next February…yay!

Haven't written an entry here for while...

...so thought I update it so I know it’s still on the list…hahaha

Yesterday, my wife and I discussed when we should take this trip. She said we should go before our daughter reaches 2. After 2, the airline charges another ticket. Wow! But most ideally, we should plan for May 2013. Right when she’s learning to walk…I know this will be a fun trip for us all…

We're sort of on-track with this goal...

...this really hinges on our budget. I can take vacation days away from work, but we may not have saved enough to do this.

To be fair, we have been saving steadily over the year in anticipation of this trip. However, we also had unexpected added expenses after the birth of our daughter.

Nonetheless, this goal reminds a high priority and I know we can make it.
