Improve my marriage

The more I’ve concentrated on serving my wife and not my selfish needs the better our marriage has gotten. I still have a long way to go, but I can see the difference. Actually, seeing God work in my wife’s life has had just as big of an impact. The more we try to grow in our relationship with Jesus the better our marriage gets. Words cannot explain it. Things are going great!

Thank you God! Thank you Jesus!

marital relationships are such a roller coaster (have I mentioned that I hate roller coasters?).

This weekend was a prime example. Our last son at home was gone for the weekend so my wife and I went to a movie (Fool’s Gold) and then dinner (Mongo’s Grill). It was very nice. When we got home, me being a testosterone filled male, began to communicate that sex would be a good thing to finish the evening with. CRASH! That wasn’t in her agenda and we proceeded to fight for the next day and a half. I hate that!

Someday I plan to ask God why he made man and woman so similar, yet so vastly different.

We’ve since made up – which is the only part of fighting that I like – but I’d sure rather skip the fighting part.

I want to grow closer to my wife and understand her better. I feel like we are growing apart rather than closer together and this frustrates me. I’m listening to a Gary Carpenter – The Four Seasons of Marriage – book on CD and hope that it’s perspectives and advice can help me reorient my mind.
