After visiting the Doctor about a month ago I’ve gotten back on track. He threatened to put me on insulin shots, but gave me three months to turn things around. It is all a matter of monitoring. When I monitor and am aware of what I’m eating it goes much better. There is an absolute correlation to blood sugar and exercise. The more I work out the lower my blood sugar (in combination with watching what I eat). My problem was that I was ignoring it and pretending to just be like everyone else. Reality is I’m not like everyone else and if I don’t get with the program I’m going to have very serious side effects or die. Reality.

I’ve been “ignoring” my diabetes situation for about a year now. I did very well for awhile and then got the false sense of security that I was okay. I haven’t been testing my blood and figured I’d better start again. My fears were confirmed. My blood sugar counts have been 249, 206 and 238 the last three times I’ve tested. Not good. I’d better wake up and get with the program!
I have not been testing and controlling my diabetes as I should be. The complications by not doing so will catch up to me and I do not want that for either myself or my family.
