On the train into Ipswich. It was going all the way to Peterborough so I thought it was more likely to get picked up as it had a long way to go after I put it down.
I haven’t had a registered catch for it, though :-(
Never mind, I’ll keep trying!

Going to your local meet! I have to say that finding my local meet and going along has been one of the best things I’ve ever done. I’ve made lots of new friends, with whom I have lots in common. And it builds your enthusiasm for BookCrossing and releasing books. I released one on my way to the meet yesterday: I haven’t had a catch registered yet but hope springs eternal – sometimes people read the book and THEN register the catch. I had one of those this week.
So yeah, if you want to get more involved in BookCrossing, find your local meet and go along!
I’m registering and releasing a lot of books at an Official BookCrossing Zone but I’d like to make more successful Wild releases next!
I’m actually doing this!! In the last month I’ve released three BC books on trains and had two catches! The two catches were on the London Underground, so I think I’ve learned a valuable lesson there!
Baaaaack in the saaaaaaddle agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain!!
I went BookCrossing on my way home – I wild released a book on the train from Radlett to Farringdon this afternoon, and I’m reasonably certain it got taken. I got up from my seat and made an obvious release, by then crouching down and laying the book on the seat, complete with “FREE BOOK” label. As I got off the train, I glanced back and noticed the girl across the aisle looking around as if to make sure no-one saw her take the book.
I saw no more than that, as I was walking away. Just hoping now I might get a journal entry! It’s been a while since I wild released anything.
I’m sending a copy of Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder off on it’s travels today. I’ve started a bookring and the first person to receive it is in Romania!
I better go and write a journal entry for it before I forget!
I’ve been on BookCrossing for 11 months and I’ve only released 1 book in the wild. I was a bit put off because it was taken but not registered, however since I’ve been picking up Olivander’s books from Newton Green’s phonebox, I’m a bit more encouraged and have been thinking about leaving her something there in return.
BookCrossing is tough out here in the wilds of Suffolk, but I’d really like to persist with it.
