I’ve looked into adopting children here in the USA. I am hoping it will be cheaper than adopting from Russia. I certainly hope the agencies understand that my husband and I will have debt from college, graduate school, buying a home and owning a new car. I’m thinking we could adopt a sibling group here in America, but I’m not yet closing the door to international adoption, just considering other alternatives.

My husband has told me he won’t let me adopt. At. All. I’m mad at him because this is something I really feel strongly about. I do not want a child with him because he has had health problems in the past and if we were to have a child, I would be the one stuck taking care of it. I don’t think its fair to make me the primary caretaker of a child I don’t want just so he can say he has a child with his genes. There are so many beautiful, loving children already in this world with NO parents, so why can’t I give them my love? I have some hard choices to make in the next few years while I can still be a “young mother”.
