and tapping into all resources available
One of my many co-workers said, “Once you do it (start your own business) you’ll wonder what took you so long.”
I either can get the long end of the stick or the short end…I’m tired of struggling for myself while helping to make others rich. It’s time for me to put education & know-how to make myself financially secure.

if nothing else I’m going to be setting up a
sole proprietor or an L.L.C.
it will discount my insurance
& give me several other tax write-offs
as to building my business in an area I’m feeling iffy about
at the moment is a whole other ball of wax

but I’ve decided it’s time to set up my LLC (limited liability corporation). It’s fairly inexpensive & it gives me a number of benefits including taxes incentives.
I’m already working part-time as an independent contractor. I can use the LLC for write-offs including my license, related classes I’ve needed to take to keep my license current, malpractice, and possibly health insurance.
I’ve also looked into getting health insurance and it’s a whopper of an expense plus I’m getting better benefits with my p/t job at the bank. However working those 20 hour/week just to get benefits cuts into growing my practice.
Right now it’s a game of weighing options but that is coming to a very quick end. I really need to sink my teeth & energy into one direction and settling into a path of success in one area.

and I just got my hours cut down. Instead of 17.5 hours per week they only want me for 12.5. When I agreed to take this job I explained that I needed to work @ least 15 hours. I was told that wouldn’t be a problem. Now I’m being told there have been budget cuts and I’m one of the first people to be affected.
I’m very upset to say the least especially where finances are concerned. I was already warned by other employees that something like this could happen I just hadn’t expected it so soon especially when I’m working my butt off to do my job.
I’m going to have to decide what to do next.

& make huge headway in my life if I would just do it.
I have no reason, other then fear, not to.
It was FDR who said, “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.”
So what’s my problem?

Business Plan 2009
Today I…
- Came up with a name for the business
- Verified that the name is available for use in NYS
- Designed a logo prototype
- Researched and found an online site to set-up a Limited liability Company (LLC)
- Researched several available spaces to see which office space makes the most sense for me
- Found software to support daily operations
- Recalculated my monthly insurance costs
- Researched a laptop for business use
- Made a list of the pros and cons of applying for a small business loan or using a credit card as a means of start-up
Total costs will be anywhere between $2700 & $3100
Next I need to…
- Recalculate monthly supply costs
- Look at the office space
- Contact colleagues for advice
- Keep plodding along to make it happen
I also thought of Future Ideas…
- Makes connections with other local businesses
- Create an easy to maintain website
- Get my name out there (again)
I felt super inspired today and got a lot accomplished!
