my new flat 1 month ago

has a bin for all recycling. they sort it seperately so about 90% of our waste is recycled!!
now how about a compost heap?

oh yeah 9 months ago

full recycling boxes! feels good!

yay 10 months ago

they took all our empty bottles and paper away -finally!! its great that we now have recycling facilities at home, so all we have to do is sort the stuff! easy!

yay 15 months ago

my new house recycling bins!! so all i need to do is to work out what box needs what, and when to put them out!

it is a bit of an effort 19 months ago

but i take the bags that items at work are wrapped in,and use them as bin liners at home. so i dont use tesco bags, and can use my new bag to carry shopping home…... every little helps i guess!

im using the 19 months ago

clear bags you put apples in for my lunches. my canteen has got plastic cutlery and cups but today(and from now on) im bringing my own fork to reuse and reduce. im also thinking about getting a nice cup(but at the moment they dont have a sink so i cant wash it once im done!).
also put a recycling box in the kitchen, and my flat mates are slowly starting to use it!

paper bags 19 months ago

are confusing me!!

i surpose they are better then having plastic ones all the time(as they can be recycled) but every time i hand one out i can see the tree that had been murdered(or more politely cut down) in order to make the bag!!

the message should be NO BAG, not paper over plastic. for that matter we need to be pointing out that their habits need to end, not just substituted!! they cant go on consuming endlessly even if they have started to consume more ethical products! grr….

recycled 19 months ago

all my paper for the last month and a half, wasnt much though. now i need to find a box for my flatmates to put their paper into.

also recycled some more plastic bags by giving them to mum to use as bin liners.

as as sales assistant 20 months ago

i am now taking it upon myself not to give out bags to people who dont need them. sometimes if a woman has a large bag then i wont offer a bag, otherwise i ask thm before handing over any plastic!

fruit bags 20 months ago

the clear ones to put apples/loose fruit in are good things to put snacks in, or sandwitches to take to work. or take them back to the supermarket and re-use them again, because they are still perfectly good!
