I finished the collage; it’s wild and colorful. I painted the little sculpture, too. While it doesn’t look as good as I’d hoped, it definitely looks better now than it did before.
I’ve done a few little drawings on the letters I’ve been writing, too. My perspective is still skewed, but my eye is definitely improving.
Today I’d like to work on the Cornell/Saar-style project I’ve been thinking about. Maybe just planning, but definitive planning.

I drew a self-portrait in ink. I drew the beginnings of a little scene in ink. Then I cut out pictures to turn the little scene into a collage. Today I’m going to paint the background and glue the pictures down. I might paint tiger stripes on one of my sculptures, too, if I can figure out what color I’d like the stripes to be.

It’s one of the hardest things for me to bring to pleasurable aspects of my life, like art and writing. But I’ve come to the point where I’m tired of the slack space between the last time I’ve drawn a picture and the next time. Not doing it every day makes it a lot harder to get started every single time. So I want my attitude towards art to be a little more like my attitude towards things like going to work and brushing my teeth.
