I’m trying to improve my 5K time. Until today, my Personal Record was 26’45”, completed in October 2011. Four weeks ago, I started using a training program by Hal Hingdon and today was my ‘test run’. I ran the Recycle Run 5K in Minneapolis this morning. It was rough. I tend to start out badly and don’t get into a good groove until 3K or so. When I saw the clock at the finish line, I was surprised to see it say 26’20”. I’ll take it. I have a feeling that getting under 25 minutes is a pipe dream for a woman my age, but I’ll keep trying.
