Since Christmas I’ve been afraid to look at the balance for one of these. The other two are still the same but I’ve racked up some meals and gifts on CI.

Christmas came and set me back a bit on this goal but nothing too outrageous. I think once we move and get stable again we can really take care of this but it’s a bit on hold for now.

progress 2 years ago

$500 towards citi- only $200 more to go then I can tackle the other stuff. Slowly making progress. I feel as if we still spend more than we should on things like eating out and stuff we don;t really need but taking a look at what I’ve been putting towards our debt makes me feel like I have been committed to this all along. I’m okay with the frivolous and miscellaneous. Too much frugality would definitely cause relationship problems. when I was working a good chunk of my paycheck went to debt. Now I have to reconfigure things a bit but we are off to a good start and will be moving in with family in three months to help us save. In five years we should have zero debt, a house of our own, and a start on our retirement. First things first though. I’m seeing a pattern with this issue of “guilt” though. I may have to revisit this.

cards 2 years ago

$400 just went on the citicard. plus I’m calling about the interest rate, right after I get done vacuuming today.

$70 to chase

two cards 2 years ago

Both cards have high interest rates. Next week I will call and ask to have them lowered since I’ve been a customer for a couple years. Most of the original balances were transfers with promotional rates so I think that’s why I didn’t notice this earlier. Needless to say interest is counter productive so I will a. pay as much as possible to get these as close to zero first b. get the rate lowered, and c. transfer to lower interest accts. though I don’t want to transfer everything because a larger balance will feel more overwhelming to pay off. Who knew psychology had so much to do with finances?

250 to CH leaving 1760
1000 to CI leaving 1075

We’re really under pressure now since we’ll only have two incomes for another month. I have to use my next two pay checks to pay as much of this off as possible.

card 2 years ago

700 towards ci acct
160 towards ch acct

I think I’ll focus on ci first due to high interest rates

card 2 years ago

This one can be paid off by February. I have six months. Ideally though I’d like to pay sooner so we can get started on the other stuff. Anyhow

CH has a balance of $2160 and payday is this fri.
