Succeed in my new job

so long since i wrote anything on 43t. :( my life has seemed to belong to someone else for a longish time and i could not find a moment to sit and take a breath. this is all about to change a little i hope as i have a new job now, one which does not require me to work six days a week. i am back in the land of the ‘weekend off’ people. yay. :)

my new job is challenging, principle of the elementary stage of an american school here in the land of the sphinx, but interesting and i feel i can make a success of it.

ramadan is fast approaching, a time for reflection for me and many others. all my confusions are still there but at least now i will have time to be confused, a sort of ironic luxury really.

so much better than i anticipated. i have gained so much confidence, not only in my ability to teach, but in myself as a person. i am happier in myself and so much nicer to be around. the only down side is having to spend so much time away from sweetpea but because of this the time we DO spend together is so much sweeter emotionally and also more constructive as i have more mental energy. i am pretty knackered as i work a six day week, not unusual in egypt, but the benefits far outweigh the difficulties. :-)

going ok. i am going to be teaching air traffic controllers so am now ploughing through an aviation english manual to brush up on my alpha, bravo, charlie.

every time i read ‘wilco’, ‘roger’, ‘i say again’ i have to smile as it reminds me of all those battle of britain films. i am still a little nervous about getting up in front of people but i am sure the confidence will come with time, if not all i can say is…..

MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY !!!

a job working for a language school here in cairo. i am a little nervous about it but pleased too. suffice to say i need this job, need the new environment it should provide, the new company it will give. we have to organise someone to help look after sweetpea but i am confident this will work out.
