fly in a hot air balloon

Well, that marks two weeks in a row I’ve had flights cancelled due to the high winds—I guess a desert flight just wasn’t meant to be this time.

This morning I finally did it—I booked a flight for this Sunday, at sunrise. I definitely left it for last minute, since this will likely be my very last weekend in Southern CA!

I can’t wait!

I’m hoping, praying, that heavy winds don’t ruin it; I know that winds have been pretty bad in my area for the past month.

I requested a date on one of the websites; hopefully, I’ll get it. I may not make my deadline, but I’ll at least have the trip booked by the end date!

So I was going to just wait this one out, but I did some research online this afternoon and there are quite a few places around here that do balloons.

I generally use all gift money for intelligent things like bills, but I’m thinking that I’m going to blow Grandma’s Christmas money (from her, not for her) on a hot air balloon. She said to get something I would like, so I will.

Seriously, what ever happened to hot air balloons? I saw them all the time when I was a kid, and I don’t think I’ve seen one in years!
