I just built a production of Streetcar—I’m not a fan of Tennessee Williams (even though I keep reading his plays and watching film versions of them), but I made some pretty things for the show.
Also, I’m on a weird play kick—just reread Churchills’s Top Girls and have finally picked up my anthology of Sarah Daniels’ work.

Carousel.
There is so much of my sweat and blood in those costumes. But not tears—I did all the crying in private.

A Chorus Line.
I’ve worked on the show before, and I don’t think it’s all that impressive, but I’m currently working with a member of the original cast, so I felt the need to see the film.

A Streetcar Named Desire.
After seeing the last two and already being familiar with a few of his others, I can honestly say that he sure does have some genuinely annoying lead female characters.
Soooo many times when I’ve been reading or watching film versions, I’ll just think to myself “Oh, my god, please shut the hell up!”

Suddenly Last Summer, Tennessee Williams.
I’ll digest it some time this week.

Seriously, a theatre person who hasn’t even seen the film version of Rent all the way through? That’s embarassing, yo.
So basically, I want to familiarize myself by reading more scripts, seeing film-versions of stage shows and actually going to see more stage shows.
Let the continuing education begin!
