Bicolanos, devotees and visitors are currently celebrating the feast of our Patroness of Bicolandia, Nuestra Senora de Penafrancia. It’s a month long celebration in Naga City and the whole Bicol Region. During the festivity, a lot of activities were prepared for everyone to enjoy so it’s consider as one of the country’s major tourist-drawing festivals!
The other day, my daughter, Chachie joined the parade in her Girl’s Scouts’ uniform. She was so thrilled as that was her first time!
Viva la Birhen! Happy fiesta Bicolanos!

There are TWO great reasons why I always dream of visiting BOHOL.
First: It’s home to the world famous Chocolate HILLs.
*Second: the world’s smallest monkey can be found here, the *TARSIER.
Chocolate Hills. Consisting of 1,268 haycock hills with heights ranging from 40 to 120 meters, the Chocolate Hills is one of nature’s wonders. The dome-shaped, grass-covered limestone hills dry up and turn brown during the summer, transforming these into rows and rows of Chocolate “kisses.”
Smallest Monkey. In Bilar, a 3-kilometer man-made forest is
sanctuary to the province’s endangered species including the tarsier.
Bohol is definitely a must-see!

I am from the land of coconut trees
of beautiful sun-kissed beaches
summer sea breeze
daydreaming in a hammock
floating between two palm trees
from crimson dusk, til sapphire dawn
Land gateway to a paradise
outstanding natural landscapes
clear unsullied waters
white powdery sand
calm waters, lush foliage
crystal clear turquoise sea
sparkling in emerald green
Land of my forefathers
haven of the free
abode of brown-skinned men
Philippines, I am from thee.
