watch more foreign films

I’m 16, and for one reason or another my parents are still kind of anal about me watching R-rated films, even if it’s just for language, etc… I respect their concern, but at the same time I really do think I’m mature enough to watch them.

Anyway, the point is, I’m not really interested in going behind their back and pirating movies or sneaking into the theater like everyone else at school does. Alternatively, are there some good G, PG, or PG-13 rated foreign films that I can watch? It seems like most of the movies that sound intriguing to me are always rated R for one reason or another.

I watched a very sweet Czech movie called Autumn Spring (Babí léto) about an old man who didn’t want to grow up. It was very sweet – I’ll admit it, I cried at the end. The jokes in it were a little twisted, and slightly morbid, just like my sense of humor. :]

It was very touching in ways that most of the movies in theaters here aren’t.
