Look into community theatre, children’s theatre, and independent film listings. Look online at groups like Mandy’s. Contact the regional film office for your city or state and see if they recommend a website where casting calls are posted, or where you can find out more about the local industry.
If you really want to act, read and attend lots of plays (if you usher at a local theatre you can see plays for free), learn about different styles of acting, the difference between TV/film and theatre acting. And if you want to go to Hollywood or New York, start saving your money up.
It is a lot easier to test for and win roles in local productions and independent films, even if they don’t sound as glamorous as being on TV or in a film.
