introverted and cool with that, but..... 23 months ago

i’m selective about where i’ll expend the effort, but sometimes i do crave a connection. i just wish i were less shy about building relationships with people i actually find interesting (because frankly, they’re kind of rare). that’s what i’d like to change, not the introvertedness in itself.

just refused an invitation to a place where a bunch of other foreigners are hanging out and gave the defense “listen, i just don’t feel like dealing with a buttload of people right now….” 2 or 3 that i know well would be fine, but i’m a bit socialized-out. my friend countered with a but these are people you’ve met before and they’re really cool…. yeah well you know what? just because i’ve met them before doesn’t mean i have to like them. there, i said it.

i’m pretty sure i was a cat in a past life….
