Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Mary in Illinois is doing 23 things including…

make a list of my 10 favorite songs of all time

Mary has written 7 entries about this goal

Almost made my brain melt down

Man, I thought about songs I haven’t heard in years. Well worth the time, even if only for a trip down memory lane.

I've got them!!!

Okay, my ten favorite songs of all time (after much consideration) are:

Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show – Neil Diamond
Picture – Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock
I’m So Lonesome I could Cry – Hank Williams
Ireland – Garth Brooks
Closer to Fine – Indigo Girls
Sweet Home Alabama – Lynnrd Skynnrd
The Freshman – Verve Pipe
Just Like Heaven – the Cure
Have You Forgotten – Darryl Worley
Revolution – Beatles

Time to do my happy dance!

almost there...

I definitely have to add “the freshman” by verve pipe to my list of all-time faves. Now I have 9 total, just need to come up with one more!

Another 2 for the list

I’ve come up with two more of my faves…

Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show – Neil Diamond

Sweet Home Alabama – Lynyrd Skynyrd

That brings me up to 8, two more to go and this goal is history!

Here's two more...

OK, I’ve decided on 2 more of my favorite songs of all time…

Just Like Heaven – the Cure

Picture – Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow

So I’m more than halfway there. Hooray!

Here's a start

There are a few songs that automatically come to mind for this. Here they are in no particular order:

Closer to Fine – Indigo Girls

Ireland – Garth Brooks

Revolution – the Beatles

I’m So Lonesome I could Cry – Hank Williams

Well, that’s 4 down and 6 to go!

Bigger job than I thought..

I may have to make several sub-lists in order to get the song choices narrowed down to 10. And it doesn’t help that I love so many different kinds of music. Will have to work on this one a while.
