It’s taken me some time to get near the computer to get this one crossed off the list, but I did get the book right away. Awesome book, best one of the series yet, can’t wait for the last one. I highly recommend it.

I’ve decided to attend a Half Blood Prince release party at my local Barnes and Noble. It runs from 6PM until the book goes on sale at midnight. It really sounds like a lot of fun, with games, costume contests, and lots of stuff to do, and it sure beats standing outside in the heat!
If my daughter was better around huge crowds of people, we’d be going to Spellbound 2005 in Mount Prospect IL. It’s being touted as the world’s biggest HBP release party. They’re having a Marauders Map Scavenger Hunt, a life-sized Wizard’s Chess game with actors playing all the parts, land-based Quidditch, virtual reality broom flying, and much more. The best part is, it’s free. The organizers say that the party they did for Order of the Phoenix drew over 10,000 people, and they’re expecting more for this one. It sounds crazy, but it also sounds like soooooo much fun. Maybe I’ll give that one a try anyway.
By the way, only 34 days to go!
Only 78 days, 15 hours, 30 minutes to go! Maybe I’ll dress up as Professor Trelawny as I’m waiting in line.
Man, I’ve reread the other five books so many times I’m going to have to replace those copies. I’ve even read all five out loud to my four year old (who loves Harry Potter more than I do!) Even if they are “children’s books” they are some of the best written fiction I’ve found in a while.
