Do the Flylady daily missions

Well, it’s been 6 months and I’m ready to close this. I no longer do the daily missions posted. I had too much trouble with them not applying to me. I live in a small apartment, have few things, and no clutter. The routines are definitely a part of my life at this point and I do spend time doing my own 20-30 minute cleaning missions each day.

I am still keeping up! I’m not sure I want to call this finished yet…but I won’t be able to check in often. I have surgery coming up and won’t have internet access for 10 days. The internet is off at home as part of my being frugal goal. And I can only log in occasionally after hours at work or at the library. I feel a little disconnected…but it’s good, it gives me much more time to work and play at home.

Sat: Car Day – decluttered
Sun: Home Blessing – vacuumed and dusted
Mon: Clean around toilet
Tue: Rinse out trash can
Wed: Clean out cabinet
Thu: Sink and counter (did this last night as I have a craft class tonight)

Mon: Counter tops
Tue: Organize food storage containers
Wed: Clean small appliances
Thu: Scrub faucets (done fri)
Fri: Polish cabinets

In a cool Flylady coincidence…my reward for finishing the baby steps came on Wednesday. It meant I got to clean up the new Cuisinart Bread Maker! I made my first loaf in it last night and it was a amazingly good crusty French bread!

Tue: hotspots (don’t have any left, paid bills and took out recycling)
Wed: sweep entrance (swept kitchen and bath)
Thu: declutter dining room (did a sink of laundry)
Fri: same as tues?? (cleaned shower and tub)
Sat: clean car (emptied the trunk)
Sun: home blessing (vacuum and dust)

I really hope this weeks missions depart from this decluttering theme. I want some real cleaning missions!

Thu: organize accessories (n/a – dusted)
Fri: purge skibbies (n/a – windows and glass)
Sat: clean car (did the windows)
Sun: home blessing (vacuum/laundry)
Mon: hotstpots (n/a – laundry)

This and last week have been all about decluttering…which I’ve complained about since I don’t have any! I’ve been doing some general housework each night. And now that I have my washboard I’ve been doing a sink of laundry each night. I’ll be caught up tonight!

Sunday: Home Blessing
Monday: Declutter Bedroom (n/a)
Tuesday: Purge worn socks and nylons (n/a)
Wednesday: Pick up errant clothing (n/a)

I was kinda disappointed with this weeks missions. They are all purging or decluttering…since I don’t have many clothes and absolutely no clutter in my room…there really isn’t anything for me to do. After the spring cleaning I did, even the floorboards are polished!!! I’ve been making a point to dust or something each night just so I don’t get out of the habit of cleaning every evening.

One of my other goals is to spend less time on the internet. So my check-ins will be less often, but I’m still flying :)

Thursday – Inventory bathroom items. I didn’t need to do this. I’m in frugal mode saving up for a house, so I’d really only replace shampoo, conditioner, and soap at this point anyway.

Friday – Bathroom floorboards. My bathroom is divided into two parts. The section with the potty and shower is tile with a tile “floorboard”. The area is so small that it’s covered by a fuzzy rug, and I haven’t thought to look under it in 6 months :| Oops. I used this mission to get on my hands and knees and scrub it all down. I used bleach in the water hoping to whiten the grout a bit. That didn’t happen, but it’s clean as can be in there!

The bathroom hasn’t been this sparkley since I moved in!

Saturday – Laundry & Car day. Laundry is in the dryer right now I washed and shoveled out my car last week. So this week I found an old bottle of dashboard protector and wiped down all the plastic surfaces. (I don’t get commercial cleaners anymore, but since I already had it I thought it best to continue to use it until it’s gone)

I got home late last night, so I didn’t get a chance to write about it…but I did finish the wipe down doors and switche plates mission before going to bed.

Tonight was wiping down the cabinet and it’s already done :)
