When I get overwhelmed (regularly), I tend to put myself on the backburner. I know that lifestyle changes don’t come overnight, but I really do feel mentally and physically better when I’m eating well and getting exercise. I also need to catch up on doctor’s appointments and get better about taking my medicine regularly. It’s hard to find balance but I think tweaking my habits one by one will get me to a place where I’m happy and healthy :)

And it doesn’t make me feel guilty that I’m not overly tackling this goal…it gives lots of advice and emphasizes the importance of planning. Maybe if I’m a better planner, I’ll be able to get somewhere with this!

I’ve found a website that has a progressing resistance program that I’m going to do at least 3 times a week. I also set up a food log online and am setting it as my homepage so I’ll stick to keeping track. I definitely eat better when I keep myself accountable (which is probably why I haven’t!!) so hopefully this will get me going.

I’ve been slacking this summer. And I can blame work, and summer classes…but then I guess that goes against my goal of not making excuses :)

I’ve gotten a gym membership recently. Actually getting to the gym will prove to be a larger challenge but I think the upcoming school year can help to give me a kick for the next few weeks.

I’m also thinking of starting to keep a food log, at least for a few days. I know when I’ve done it in the past it’s really helped to look at exactly what and how much of things I’m eating to get a little self control.



Given my career path... 1 year ago

this is drilled into my head daily. Until recently, the only time I’ve worried about this is in terms of what I look like. Lately, I’m pretty happy with my body, but I know I’m out of shape and living on fast food because it’s “convenient” isn’t doing me any favors. I’d like to just get back into the regular routine of working out a few times a week and eating healthier. And toning up wouldn’t be completely awful either :)
