I wanted to work at 43 things because everyone seemed to having so much fun but what I didn’t realize was that I could find a job that I love in my current field. I love my day job now and will use it to transition into full self employment as an artist.

When I first found 43 things.com I was thrilled to see that someone had created a place for the important things in life to become the focal point.
I had just quit a dissatisfying estate management position and decided that I would play my accordion in downtown Seattle to see if I could make a living just being myself and making people happy.
I learned so much about people and
myself but the streets were rough and unpredictable. I played the winter months but by spring it was much too hot for me.
Making the rent was a definite stretch and I realized that it was something I would be much happier doing very part time. At least until I can fly around on air conditioned jets and what not.
What was amazing about it, though, was that many of the pains in my heart were cured.
Much of what ailed me as an artist (mainly the business side of it- I had consumed far too many marketing books and spent countless hours in front of MTV) had disippated and my work was becoming pure again.
Ahh, but the rent, The rent. I needed to take care of basic survival and have enough capitol to make some more art, so I went back to my backburner stalemate dayjob for the dough because it made the most money. I try to make it interesting but the hours drag by and my brilliance defies it’s very structure.
MONEY is NOT ENOUGH!
I would love to work at 43things.com because I know I would never be bored and I would always a have a higher purpose for the work that I am doing. I thrive on
meaningful work and would sink my teeth into it- it would feed me and I it.
In my mind, it would be the ideal dayjob to support my growth as a human being and I would have a sense of fulfillment that the hours I spent every day were not hours I watched go by but that were truly worth my time because they serve to connect people and uplift humanity in a practial way.
Working at 43things.com would put in place a structure for me to
never forget how precious this life is
and to help others to remember that also.
