get a summer job

my dad came home from work and said that he’s sick of me wasting my time at home and that he’s employing me.

it became a very good arrangement. he buys me breakfast & lunch, i work on the computer (& therefore can listen to music), the job is satisfying, i get to sleep in, and i feel like my dad and i have really bonded.

the only downside is the pay – he doesn’t even pay me minimum wage – but considering the free food and all, it makes sense.

i’m happy – money is money. and with this added experience, getting a summer job next year will be a hell of a lot easier.

I’m moving to another city in the fall for university. A lot of places don’t want to hire people just for the summer, though. Some friends told me to lie and say i’m going to a local university and then quit at the end of the summer. I’m scared that they’d find out i was leaving, though (through other employees whom i might tell, or a slip-up of mine) and i’m a horribler liar.

What should i do?

i really really need money for university
PLUS i would get my parents off my back.

but i’m not making an effort.
