One of my goals is to have a short story or article in a children’s magazine. But in order to do that, I have to be willing to face rejection.
Too often we dream of doing something, but we never try because, “I’d never make it anyway,” or “People will think I’m stupid,” or “Oh, I’ll just get one of those rejection letters and my effort will be wasted.”
OK. So failure and rejection is inevitable. So I’m making a game of it: Let’s see how many rejection letters I can collect. Make it a goal to get as many as possible. Celebrate the growing pile. Because each rejection letter is proof that I did something instead of dreaming, cowering, and living in doubt.
And when I succeed, those rejection letters will make it even more impressive.
