Run #35 tonight! And I had my BEST RUN TIME EVER!!!
I am proud to say that tonight I was able to improve my time by a little over one lap! I completed 25 1/3 laps tonight in 20 minutes.

We ran our usual intervals of walk 3, run 5 (repeated 4x).

My legs were strong tonight. That helped. I also decided that I would try to run as fast as I could after the 5th lap during each run interval. This is what put me over the top of my previous 24 lap record.

My next goal is to reach 26 total laps. Hoping to do this in the next couple of runs.

Run thirty-four!!!

We ran last night, ( Fri. 11/6), a day later than usual because we were both so exhausted on Thurs. night.

We did these intervals: Walk 3, Run 5 (4x).

Hubby can now do 32 laps in 20 minutes =2 miles
I can do 24 laps in 20 minutes=1 1/2 miles

This next week I am hoping to increase by two laps.

If I can run one extra half lap each run interval, this would do it!!! I think I can….......but I have to admit speeding up is a daunting thought at this point!

Tonight we ran outdoors.
It was cool and clear with a a beautiful full moon and lots of stars:)

My knee had been bothering me earlier today so I decided to not push the pace too much tonight.

I settled into my most comfortable pace and didn’t keep track of distance at all.

As a result, I really enjoyed the run tonight. It was probably the most enjoyable run I have had since we began. I didn’t push hard but just kept going and it felt good that I knew I COULD keep going at that pace for a good while:) Surprisingly, my knee did not hurt at all.

We ran our typical intervals of run 5, walk 3 (repeated 4x). Next run, hubby and I have finally decided we are ready to try some 6’s.

Tonight was our 2nd run of the week, 30th training session.

Rainy again, so we ran inside.
Tonight I was able to run 23 3/4 laps around the gym.
This is only a 1/4 lap short of 1.5 miles.
I think this is the highest distance I have been able to cover so far.
It was challenging, but I was so excited to see my distance improve!
I tried to run harder on the first and last run intervals and it really paid off!!! Yeah me!!

Run #29 was on Sunday Oct. 25.
Forgot to post that day.
We kept the same intervals as last week.
Run 5, Walk 3 (repeated 4x)

I missed a run last week because our youngest son has had the flu.
He is not completely recovered yet, but doing much better…...definitely well enough for us to resume our running schedule:)

Run #28

Weather was BEAUTIFUL today so we got to run outdoors:)
Yeah! We have not run outdoors for about 3 weeks now, I think.

I was able to run a 1.25 miles tonight.
Our intervals remained the same as last time.
(run 5, walk 3, repeated 4x)

I did notice that running on the dirt track is much more forgiving impact-wise than the gym floor, making my feet much happier. BUT the dirt track is less smooth, more uneven terrain, making my calves work a bit harder. Just an interesting comparison.

Today we bumped up our intervals to:
Run 5, walk 3 (repeated 4x)

I ran 21.5 indoor laps tonight…..about 1.25 miles.
Not sure how far I walked…..I never count the walking laps.

I felt pretty good throughout the run tonight.

My goal for my next run is to increase my laps by at least one.



slow but complete 2 months ago

Run #26 was slow but I did it.

Knee pain and tight leg muscles plagued tonight’s run.
Felt like I had cement shoes.
This was by far my slowest run of the week:(

Oh well…........can only go up from here!
Tonight was the last of this week’s intervals.
Starting Sunday night…....we run all 5’s.
After tonight, I hope I’m ready for it??!!
