On my 13th bday, I received a call from my dad. We talked for hours and said that he and my mom will be coming home after a few days. I was really excited because my dad and mom works in Saudi Arabia while I stayd here in the Philippines with my relatives. He comes home only after every 2 years and stay for 55 days while my mom comes home every year and gets to stay for 40 days. I really miss them so much that when they get back, I’d give each one of them a hug for at least 5 minutes just to let them know how much i miss them both. Before we say our goodbyes over the phone, I told my dad to buy me many gifts and that’s it. I was counting the days because I was really excited to see them again.. 12 days later, my mom arrived with a saddest news about my dad. My dad already passed away a couple of days after he called me. I learned that 7 days after my bday, My dad and his friends drank a lot to celebrate. After the party, my dad’s friend took him home to his apartment. He’s the only one who occupies the apartment because he and my mom doesn’t live together there because they’re a thousand square km away. His friend told him that he’d be back in the morning to pick him up so they’d be able to buy gifts. The following morning, my dad’s friend went to pick him up, but when he got in the apartment, he found out that my dad had a heart attack. He immediately took my dad to the nearest hospital but they couldn’t do anything anymore..
My mom already told my folks over the phone and they didn’t say a thing to me because I might simply crash…
...So If there’s really a way to go back in time… I’d do it in a heart beat..
Because the greatest gift that I could have acquired on my 13th bday…. was my dad
