Entiendo un poquito Espanol, pero no muy bien.
I took Spanish in Highschool and some at the Community College, but that was several years ago and so now my Spanish is limited to: asking for directions, the time, the bathroom, and how much something costs. I can also get by with telling them my name, age, that I have 1 brother, 1 mother, 1 father and what time it is.
I think by studying Spanish in Central and South America while staying with host families as well as being surrounded by it every day would help me pick it up fairly fast. I did pretty well in Madrid and Barcelona, but from my experience on a train in the middle of Spain where no one spoke any English (not that I was expecting them to or anything) I know I am far from any form of fluent communication.
