I saw Richard II last summer in Vancouver, BC. Awesome production. I highly recommend Bard On the Beach.
Here’s what I have left to see:
Antony and Cleopatra
Coriolanus
Cymbeline
King Henry VI part 1
King Henry VI part 2
King Henry VIII
Pericles, Prince of Tyre
The Two Noble Kinsmen
I was supposed to see Henry VIII in Ashland last summer but my trip got derailed. Oh well!

I saw a great version of King Henry IV parts 1 and 2 this past October. Also saw King Lear and Titus Andronicus (which I’d seen in movie form) in September. Here’s the plays I have left to go:
Antony and Cleopatra
Coriolanus
Cymbeline
King Henry VI part 1
King Henry VI part 2
King Henry VIII
King Richard II
Pericles, Prince of Tyre
The Two Noble Kinsmen
I’ve seen 29 of the plays, though! Pretty good. I do wish I could have made it to Ashland this summer to see Coriolanus. I heard the production was awesome.

Have neglected my 43 things account for quite some time. Last Summer I had an amazing time in Ashland with my mom and saw three more plays! I saw King John, The Merry Wives of Windsor and The Two Gentleman of Verona. They were all great! The Merry Wives of Windsor was probably amongst the best of any version of any Shakespeare play I’ve seen. I think that leaves 13 plays I haven’t seen.

My husband and I went to see Troilus and Cressida at the Bard on the Beach Festival in Vancouver, B.C. Sat. night. I would not call this one a comedy! For sure it’s a tragedy to me. But then who really cares about classifications.
I liked the way the Bard on the Beach folks set the play to the American civil war period—south versus north. Shakespeare language in a southern accent is something else.
They did a great job with a challenging play.

I saw this teen-movie that was based on the story of the taming of the shrew last week. A fun watch. I’m not usually into teen movies but I appreciated the angle they took.

I saw a community version of the Comedy of Errors yesterday and they did such a great job! I’ve seen Shakespeare preformed from the high school level all the way up to seeing it in London at the Globe theatre and it’s just so fun when a local group nails it.
I’m re-adding King Lear to the unseen list—I know I read it in college and I think I saw the movie then, but I don’t remember it. That would leave 17 plays in the unseen list: 3 comedies (all of which I have tickets to see this summer!), 7 histories (It’s hard to find preformances or interesting movie versions of these, I’ll probably still have some I haven’t seen years from now), 4 tradgedies (including the re-added King Lear) and 3 romances.

Very challenging play. I saw it in Vancouver at the Bard on the Beach festival. I think it might be one of my favorites.

My mom and I are planning a trip together to go to the Ashland Shakespeare festival this summer!!!! I’m so excited to go with my mom, just us! We still need to buy our theater tickets and find a hotel, but we’ve at least blocked out the days on both of our calendars. We’re going to see King John, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, and the Merry Wives of Windsor! Yea!!! I’m also excited about this trip because My mom and sister take a trip together every year, just them, to go watch the Mariners baseball team in spring training (they are fanatical baseball fans). I’ve always been slightly jealous that my mom and I never take a trip, just us. SO I told her that and now we have plans!
Also, My husband and I have blocked off dates to drive up to Vancouver to go to Bard on the Beach for 2 separate plays this summer! We went to Love’s labors lost last summer; it was great! This summer we hope to go to Measure for Measure and Trolius (spelling?) and Cressida.

I saw the Brando version of Julius Ceasar yesterday. I thought it was really good.
